The Worm Ouroboros by E. R. Eddison
A Mythic Discussion with Lynn Lockhart

In a recent planning discussion Lynn suggested that we choose a book that we would both read at the same time and then do chapter-by-chapter discussions in podcast form. She asked me to choose the book and, knowing her penchant for dead white writers, I decided on this little known classic, a predecessor of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings in one reasonably long volume.
The edition I am working from is The Barnes & Noble Library of Essential Reading, 2005, 443 pages, originally published in 1922
Lynn, the median length of the chapters is around 16 pages. I think if we review one chapter every second week it will be an easy thing to keep on top of. Let me know when you're ready to begin. Since we are subject to much of the same external information I think we should read these chapters over the same period, as I have noticed that current events and conditions have influenced some of my reviews, some consciously and some unconsciously and only perceived in retrospect.

Downloaded and ready to follow along.

I'll tell you, though, if Chapter I is any indication, it doesn't read easy like a "Hobbit"-style kids story, or even an "Earthsea" tale.

Gotta go through it a couple times to figure out where you are.
