Erasing the Confederates from history.
-Jeremy Bentham
The Romans and Greeks before them recognized that one was only as great as their enemies and that to deride their enemies as inferior, evil and unworthy of remembering would place them too in the dusty cities of death. Thanks to their wisdom, their habit of immortalizing their foes, such as Hannibal, we know of them, knowing that they were great, having defeated the great.
Conversely, when a people know themselves to be weak, to be unworthy, to be nothing more than slaves in need of a master, they must vilify their ancestral enemies and thereby cast themselves deservingly into dust. The United States of America, no less the municipality of Baltimore, does not deserve to be remembered as having foes as great as Lee and Jackson.
Erasure is the fool's ultimate triumph, which, for a nation of fools, is fitting.
Ignore this and go watch TV.

After Charlottesville, Mayor Plans To Remove Baltimore's Confederate Monuments
BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) — After violence erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend in response to the city’s plan to remove a Robert E. Lee statue from a park there, Mayor Catherine Pugh has renewed efforts to remove similar confederate imagery from Baltimore.
A white nationalist group gathered in the central Virginia college town Saturday to protest the statue removal, and others arrived to counter-protest. A car plowed into a crowd of the counter-protesters, killing one person and hurting more than a dozen others.
Shortly after, a Virginia State Police helicopter that officials said was assisting with the rally crashed outside Charlottesville, killing the pilot and a trooper.
The governor declared a state of emergency, and police dressed in riot gear ordered people out of the town.

I can't go watch TV.

I don't have one.

Sometimes when I stay in a motel, I turn on the 100 cable channels, and find nothing but a howling wasteland of idiocy, bread-and-circuses, and Marching Morons .... So nothing's changed, then.

Project idea: Think like a LaFond

Where James would de-construct stuff, do voice overs, like this cop:

Two Punks Mess With The Wrong Guy & He Knocks Them Out

Not civilian-cop encounter, but civilian-civilian, or prey-civilian.

If Trump had any balls he would declare all the Civil War monuments National Parks or National Monuments and arrest anyone who tried to deface them.
