James produces some fascinating work on anthropology, human pre-history and “forbidden history.” What a pity that the American and Australian university system was not filled with free thinkers like that – but then, it would have been difficult for the present New World Disorder agendas to get up and rolling.
In Where There Was No Concept Of Race he argues convincingly that the Amerindians did not have any type of European concept of race.
I think this sort of cultural relativity goes much further too, with different concepts of space, time and causality, and number across cultures. A classic work on native peole having an entirely different conception of causality than the Western one is E. E. Evans-Pritchard (1902-1973), “Witchcraft, Oracles and Magic Among the Azande,” (1937), with reflections on this by Peter Winch, “Understanding a Primitive society,” “American Philosophical Quarterly,” vol. 1, 1964, pp. 307-324.
Instead of strict mechanical causality, we have an alternative mystical/magical one, which has its own hermeneutical logic. It was not so long ago that Europeans believed in a spirit-filled world too, one populated by witchcraft and black magic. Face it, fundamentalist Christians still do. I know one guy who claims to see spirits, to have visions and directly communicate with God, and he has a PhD!
It would not take too much to start believing in that spiritual world all again too, and probably a bit after the collapse, when science disappears, it will all be back.
These cultural relativist theorists would have been even better served by studying Australian Aboriginal culture, which while also lacking a concept of “race,” has strict tribal divisions. Before Whites came to Australia, if one belonged to a different tribe, and violated territory without permission, a spearing was likely. Tribalism was tied to the land, not to blood, and during tribal battles, women were often captured and taken back to camp, and became part of the tribe. It makes sense to me, and I would have done the same thing, and probably will post-collapse.
As well, ancient Aboriginal culture had fascinating concepts about fertility, which was produced by standing on a fertility stone.
Barraiya is credited with creating the first vagina, which he fashioned from his spear. (Thought bubble: so, that’s where this dopey ϲunt got his title reference from.)
Good work Barry.
