I can't understand why there's any question of who was in his room and when. Every square inch of that place is under video surveillance.
And yes, it is absolutely preposterous that this guy made money playing video poker. So what gives? I am still of the mind that this dude was just a pissed off older gentleman who was jacked up on testosterone shots and had some serious unchecked rage issues. But even I'm starting to doubt my pet theory.
I wonder if maybe he was a spook all along and then found out he had some terminal disease? The Company then just turns around and tells him 'we got one last job for ya'.

For me the big suspicion set in when the police changed the timeline, when they actually moved the shooting of the security guard back by some minutes. This timeline held for a week before they altered it?

James, you're right about the Islamo-Philippine connection. IIRC, the guys who were convicted in the OKC bombing also took many trips back and forth to the PI.
My cross-the-Rubicon moment in all this came when "somebody" sent a cleaner to Paddock's house, and he was able to gain entry to a secured crime scene. Remove evidence or just contaminate the scene? Wonder if we'll ever know.
