You know, Shep, I'm not much of a movie guy, but I want to see this movie. I've never cared for Vince much, but what I see here makes me believe that he's done for his career what I've done for mine—sunk it.
This guy is actually playing a male lead who has beliefs and acts on them in a shockingly unconflicted fashion—oh no, I think the rainbow flag across the street just fluttered in the wind...but there's no breeze...
No! A confident, defiant, unconflicted Caucasian—run for the hills...Oh, hell no, dey live in dem hills!
Okay, now that the liberal person of color in me has been driven from my body, I can confidently say that I want to see this movie and hope that this is the beginning of a new paleface age, the age of our defining social alienation and hierarchal oppression, like the 1970s for black dudes, when the coolest low budget movies all starred a brutha who weren't takin' no more shit from the man. Checkout the blacksploitation music towards the end. This is a flipside movie.
I liked Bone Tomahawk a lot and this was made by the same guy.
Vince's body mechanics in this are very much like my old sparring partner Duz.
I wonder if there is any significance from him going in this doomed direction away from all of his quibbling douchebag roles?
Is he going to be living in James Woods' garage after this?
Shep, just this trailer alone has made me proud once again to have fallen from my parent's middle class civic stoop, into the gutter that washes this unrepentant white trash clean of guilt with the soul scouring mud of my hate-filled hunters...
Thanks for cheering me up.
Brawl In Cell Block 99 Official Trailer #1 (2017) Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Carpenter Thriller Movie HD
Rubbing Out Palefaces
Moral Minority Survival at the End of Caucasian Time Paperback
Ha! Glad I could add a little ray of sunshine to the drab, dreary Draconian drama of Harm City!
Vince is not an uber-athlete (like, say, Jason Statham) but he's always had a look in his eye that would give me pause if it came from some Joe on the street. Closest thing in Hollywood to VV's Eye of Crazy is Lawrence Fishburne.
YMMV.
