This is why your Uncle Rick was so big on "finishing" strong. When a man takes down a big foe, something should be broken, an elbow, a hand, preferably an ankle. It is easy to rip off a shoe while twisting the ankle and then toss the shoe away, so the risen man—if still in range—is hobbled.
