‘When He was On, He Was On’
Andrew Golota Rumy’s Corner
© 2017 James LaFond
NOV/3/17
On the first video—minute 4:44—the Dracula bite!
I had a friend of mine tell me about watching the first Golota Bowe fight, when his sister, who was dating a black guy, was in the kitchen preparing food and the gathered white fans were out of their seats, yelling, “Kill the niցցer!” and his sister went crying into the back yard…
In many stories, the man on top lacks the perspective to illuminate the action. Golota never suffered from that lack of perspective.
The “foul pole” is a classic boxing head case. Golota’s work against Bowe was masterpiece of angulation and shoulder fading.
