Silence Over a Dying City
Blacklisted Books
© 2017 James LaFond
NOV/19/17
Dear readers, the Amazon titles have begun coming down, which means we will have a blacklist of books available [until further notice] only as Adobe PDFs.
I am seeking an alternative print option and any such option will be listed here on this page.
I have previously had readers make PayPal donations for Amazon books that would be shipped directly, in order to cut some of the bloated profit from the sale.
However, if Amazon is kicking in my literary teeth, PayPal is sure to follow and I know people who have had PayPal donations frozen extra-legally by that organization for at least 6 months. So I must ask readers to stop making PayPal donations.
If you want to donate or purchase, contact me directly at jameslafond dot-com at gmail dot-com so that we may make arrangements.
In the meantime the following books are only available directly from James LaFond for whatever price you deem them worth:
Blacklisted Books
Once placed on this list a title will not be removed, even if it is unsupressed, but will have an annotation.
Autumn in a Dying City
Letters from the Last Whiteman in Baltimore
Living in America’s most violent city offers lessons for the future for those portions of the U.S. which have not yet fallen to the will of its masters. James LaFond is an unrepentant jerk who lives as poor white trash in the worst possible example of where urban modernity is headed.
Do you want a guide, or will you just wing it?

Here's a link to the self-publishing company called Lulu ...

I found it right here (relax):

amazon.com/dp/B077LP5CC6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1511150533&sr=8-6&keywords=james+lafond

All of your books are still available.

amazon.com/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_ebooks_1?ie=UTF8&text=James+LaFond&search-alias=digital-text&field-author=James+LaFond&sort=relevancerank

So far, Amazon has not decided to put ideology over profits. It has wisely remained silent during the corporate culture wars.

The kindle version is up.

Create Space, however, sent me the notice that this one title was "suppressed" which I thought was hilarious.

When you put a new print title it goes up at the top of the first page on the author's list.

The Kindle version goes up [for me, anyhow] 4 pages back in their listings.

The one that started off at the top was yanked and they didn't touch the one listed back in the pack.

I'll check this link out.

But as of now, I cannot even buy a copy for myself off the back end or receive royalties off the front end.

I suspect amazon automated content filters might have found "whiteman" in the title and suppressed it. Try changing that word to something else and republish to see what happens.

In process.

Thanks for the tip.

It had to be the cover because it was squashed post text approval and before anyone could have purchased and read the print copy—indeed, before a print copy existed.

One thing though.

I will not change the title to keep it on Amazon, but sell it elsewhere.

Once they do this to me they don't get it back.

I'm just doing the retitled work as an experiment on the back end and will let you know how it worked.

James, I just bought the Kindle version from Amazon two minutes ago. Best.

Thanks, Dave.

Well with such poor censorship that they can't manage to suppress the print and kindle version at the same time, there certainly is hope.
